Wolfgang's medical care

*UPDATE*
Sweet wolfgang is fighting as hard as he can. He is on a ventilator, has a chest tube, a gastral tube and nasal oxygen tubes. He is sedated and finally was able to have his external wounds attended to today. He has been transferred to  Colorado State University Veterinary Hospital - one of the best in the nation, getting the best treatment as he deserves. Each day it gets more expensive. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us so far - Wolfgang you are a tough cookie, mama adores you and EVERYONE is rooting for you!! You are so loved!

Typing this right now is my worst nightmare coming to life, and I still can't believe it's real. I'm going to try and summarize as much information as I can in here but honestly I can barely speak and these are the most devastating few days of my life.

Sweet, curious Mr Wolf found a way out of my backyard last night and was hit and run over by a car. We rushed him to the emergency animal hospital as soon as we possibly could, but he suffered extreme internal and external injuries. His sweet little paws have deep gashes in them, and he had road rash on his tummy. He has a severely collapsed lung, internal bleeding, and he is very scared and anxious. Due to COVID restrictions, I am not allowed to see him and pet his big fuzzy head and tell him how much I love him. Heartbreak is an understatement.
They tapped his lung three times to no avail, put in a chest tube, and now have to put in another chest tube. Lung damage can either remain the way it is or get significantly worse in the first 24 hours. He is fading in and out of periods of extreme anxiety and pain. I would give anything in the world to take those feelings from him. Those who know me know that me and Wolf are never separated, he is my service dog and I am medically and emotionally inhibited without him. He sleeps by my side, sits in the passenger seat of my car, paddleboards, snowboards, rock climbs, hikes and swims with me. He goes to school and work with me, we have never been separated like this. He is my sweetest boy and my very best friend, and he's scared.

Every day he has to stay in the hospital costs thousands upon thousands. What started off at 4-6k has now moved up to 10-15k due to his need for additional care, and if it comes down to needing surgery - that will cost approx another 10k. I put 3k as the goal because I want to hope for the best, but I truly don't know what will happen.  Luckily pet insurance will cover a portion, and I didn't want to make this - but I would give anything for Wolf and he is the best thing that's ever happened to me. I don't know how I will go on if he doesn't make it.

Please donate anything you can. Best case scenario he pushes through and I don't need as much money as they're preparing me for, in which case i'll send it back to you.

Wolf, you are the sweetest boy in the whole world. Everybody loves you and that big fuzzy head and those tiny dancer paws. I love you more than anything in the world.
