WMU Racquetball Club Intercollegiate Nationals LSU
In Spring of 2017, I decided to take a leap of faith and build a community of my own. Racquetball Club. Western Michigan University did not have a club team in the past and I wanted to create something that would keep myself in shape as well as meet new people. Lets just say, things grew quickly. Our club went from 2 members to 10 members by Fall of 2018, 16 members by Spring 2019, and one year to date we have a club of 28 members in 2020.
Our club not only plays racquetball but has created a community of friendship and brotherhood/sisterhood. We traveled to our first Mid East Racquetball Tournament in Fall of 2017. On February 14, 2020, we will have attended our 20th tournament competing at Ohio State University.
Racquetball Club at WMU has placed 2nd in the Mid East Racquetball Conference in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 season, beating out teams such as Case Western, Youngstown, Pittsburgh, Purdue, and Ohio State. Baldwin Wallace (A racquetball powerhouse) has been able to hold the edge on WMU but revenge is coming!
We now are getting ready for the final frontier. Traveling to LSU to compete in the 2020 Intercollegiate Racquetball National Championship. Cameron Chapell, Ian Leong, and Kyle Mckenney are asking you to help us make this a dream come true. This would be the capstone of our successes as well as the building blocks for the future of our club and the sport of racquetball. Your donation whether kind words of motivation or a dollar amount will help us with the costs of traveling to a prestigious event that we see as a showcase for Western Michigan University.
