Our thoughts and prayers go out to Train Operator Terence Hooper Sr and Ms. Janice Hooper on the passing of their son, MABSTOA Traffic Checker Terence C Hooper Jr. This is a devastating loss to our Transit family as his sister, Train Operator Nuke McLaurin and brother, CED Alphonso Kenny are dear coworkers of ours who are also mourning the loss of their baby brother.
Terence started his career with the MTA in June 2013. He was following in the footsteps of his dad, sister and brother in wanting to make working for New York City Transit Authority a career. He enjoyed going out with coworkers and riding the lines throughout the city.
As we mourn our coworker, a family is heartbroken over the sudden death of their child, brother, uncle, and over all friend. Terence brought so much joy to the lives of his family and friends. He was reliable and could always be counted on.
He was always available to assist. His neices and nephew loved him dearly, he was the uncle they could confide in, be silly with and look to for guidance. Terence was unapologetically true to himself. He was intelligent, expressive, creative; he loved video games and colsplay. His uniqueness made him an original and therefore he's irreplaceable. He will be loved and adored forever.
I put together this gofumdme so we can come together to show our love and support to our friends and coworkers as they go through the heartbreaking process of burying their son and brother. I would love for our donations to give them a piece of mind as they take time to grieve. Burying a child isn't the natural order of life. We can't even provide love and support like we use to due to social distancing restrictions. Let's send our love in the form of a donation to let them know we care.
