</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>¿Quiénes somos?</strong>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Necesitamos tu ayuda</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Dona, comparte, involúcrate.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>¿Por qué importa?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div>Es proteger nuestra herencia natural e histórica.

</div>
<div><strong>Punta La Bandera</strong> is a hidden natural gem between Playa Azul and Balneario La Monserrate in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. This magical spot is not just a coastal paradise—it’s a sanctuary for wildlife, a spiritual space, and a symbol of community resistance.
</div>
<div>Here lives <strong>the largest black mangrove in Puerto Rico</strong>, along with wetlands, sea turtles, fish, birds, rays, frogs, and many other species that depend on this ecosystem. Punta La Bandera is also a vital refuge for the local fishing community, residents, visitors, and everyone who seeks peace and connection in nature.
</div>
<div><strong>However, this paradise is under threat.</strong>
</div>
<div>Despite being classified as protected rustic land of high ecological value, and being recognized as a coastal barrier, wetland, and maritime extension of the Northeast Ecological Corridor, private developers continue to push for construction on this land. The destruction would be irreversible; the loss of coastal forest and soil compaction would negatively impact the quality of seawater, affecting corals, seagrass beds, fauna, and flora. In addition, access to the beach would be limited, altering the lives of the entire community and visitors who enjoy this magical place.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Who are we?</strong>
</div>
<div>Since 2022, the community has united under the organization Protege Punta Bandera to defend this special place. We have already fought and <strong>won important legal battles</strong>:
</div>
<div>We recently revoked a shoreline demarcation approved in August 2024 through a process before the Court of Appeals, after nearly a year of work.
</div>
<div>We sent over 170 letters requesting a public hearing for a new shoreline demarcation process recently filed before the DRNA (Department of Natural and Environmental Resources).
</div>
<div>We intervened before the OGPe (Office of Management and Permits) against an irregular request for an extension of a 2000 location consultation.
</div>
<div>We are currently leading an injunction process before the Fajardo Court to revoke an earth-moving permit approved in December 2024 that was based on false and erroneous information. So far, more than nine hearings have taken place, with more scheduled.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All of these legal, environmental, and administrative processes <strong>require</strong> <strong>significant investment</strong>—lawyers, experts, technical studies, document preparation, and consistent presence in legal forums.
</div>
<div><strong>We need your help</strong>
</div>
<div>We are at a critical stage, and every dollar counts to continue this fight. Your donation will allow us to stay strong, organized, and well represented before the courts and government agencies.
</div>
<div>Donate, share, get involved.
</div>
<div>Today more than ever, we need you to protect Punta La Bandera from destruction.
</div>
<div><strong>Why does this matter?</strong>
</div>
<div>Protecting this place is not only about saving its flora and fauna:
</div>
<div>It’s about defending the community’s right to a healthy, safe environment and public access to Punta La Bandera’s beach.
</div>
<div>It’s about fighting for Puerto Rico’s ecological future, its coasts and beaches.
</div>
<div>It’s about preserving a critical habitat that helps mitigate climate change.
</div>
<div>It’s about protecting our natural and historical heritage.
</div>
<div><strong>Together we are stronger</strong>
</div>
<div>Support us with your donation and share this campaign with your family, friends, and social networks. Together we can save Punta La Bandera for future generations.
