West Kentish Hospice
Donation protected
We are fundraising to establish a hospice in North West Tasmania. A rural place for rural people, to also be an education facility for end of life care and an example of what can be done when a community comes together.
I hope you are here because you too believe that together we can make a hospice in Kentish a reality.
The idea is to fundraise through grants, bequests, donations and community action in order to buy and run a 4 bed end of life facility for Kentish residents and the wider North West Tasmanian community.
I had a vision...
...of rooms that feel like home, with doors opening onto a garden with a view of Mount Roland and the peace of a rural environment. A place dedicated to the best care for those coming to the end of their lives but who are unable to return home for those final days or weeks. A place where medical and nursing care is on hand but not intrusive. Where meals are home cooked and there are wood fires and comfortable armchairs. Where care comes from the heart of the Kentish community through a core of volunteers because in the end, we are caring and will one day be cared for in turn.
