Help Tana Recover at Home!

Hello dear friends,

We are Tana's Tribe - her husband & three children, her family & sisters, her best friends, and her neighbours. Thank you for taking the time to hear her story, and help us to help Tana.

Almost six weeks ago, on Sunday July 22nd 2018 -- Tana, her husband Craig, and their three young children Ella (6), Everett (2), and Nyla (1), were in a horrible car accident while driving home from a family reunion in Hanna, Alberta.

Luckily the children were removed from the family vehicle with a few bumps and scratches, and Craig walked from the scene as well. Tana wasn't as fortunate -- suffering multiple broken bones including her foot, ribs, sternum, two vertebrae, her shoulder and her collarbone.

After being airlifted to the University of Alberta Hospital from the scene of the accident, Tana was in the care of the trauma unit for surgery on her ankle; and while the nurses were aware of a shoulder injury and excruciating pain, she had to give her body time to adjust and recover from this massive trauma. By Thursday she was transferred to ICU for fear of a pulmonary embolism, and her doctors discovered internal bleeding requiring another major surgery. She's had five blood transfusions since being in hospital.

Giving blood can save a life, and if you are willing and able, please do!
Canadian Blood Services has a shortage of donors right now: https://blood.ca/en/donate

After taking time to recover from the third operation, she then underwent two shoulder surgeries, and was transferred back to the trauma ward for recovery. Our Tana is so strong, it's quite unbelievable. On Friday August 10th she was transferred to The Glenrose Rehabilitation Centre, and as of today Tana is focusing on physiotherapy and occupational therapy, trying to get her strength back up. She'll be in a wheelchair for a while and luckily is expected to make a full mobile recovery!

Tana is going to need more than we are able to provide once we can finally get her home with her family. Due to the timing of her maternity leave and the car accident, we've determined she won't be able to claim any disability benefits.
The recovery time will prohibit Tana from working for at least six months, maybe longer. Craig is at home looking after their three children, and the financial strain on the family is debilitating at an already tragic and emotional time.
We are requesting donations to assist with costs to bring her home - this includes restructuring the house to accommodate recovery with a wheelchair, loss of income for Tana, medical assistance like renting a scooter, hiring childcare, and the myriad of expenses we all face in any six month period.

Tana-Lee, our Wonder Woman:
* She is strong and fierce and selfless.
* She's the matriarch of her beautiful family.
* The hardest working, most compassionate, and straight up most kick-ass chick we know.
* She needs us!

Please consider any donation amount to help us reach the goal of ensuring Tana can settle back in with family as smoothly as possible.

Our humble thanks for the support and love,
