Fighting Cancer

Beginning of this year, my loving husband of 29 years and father to our daughter, Ericka(15), Marian Anghel started having stomach problems, such as heartburn and indigestion. After a while, he couldn’t eat as he used to, which resulted in major weight loss, and he started experiencing a lot of pain. The only way he could get some rest was kneeled and laid on his stomach. We went to the doctor, and had all the tests possible (x-rays, ultrasound, pet scan, and mri). After they couldn’t find anything wrong, we went for an endoscopy and colonoscopy. The initial diagnosis was gastric ulcers, and he was given medication for it. A week later, the doctor called us to his office, and that’s when our lives turned upside down. He told us it’s actually stomach cancer, and he would be referred to an oncologist surgeon. He will soon be undergoing surgery and chemotherapy. He is the main breadwinner, and with him out of work for several months, and  all the medical bills, we will be struggling to make ends meet. I will be spending most of my time with him at the hospital , which is about 60 miles away , so I cannot work. This came as a shock for us , this is not the diagnosis we were expecting. 
We are hoping to raise funds for lost income,unexpected medical bills, and any of our family needs, and we know that we cannot do this without the help of our family,friends , and community.
For anybody or their loved ones who has experienced cancer , you must be able to understand how much it can affect your life emotionally and financially.
