Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am Jasmines mum. Letting go of your pride, and asking for help is a hard thing to do when you never ask.
But.......Our beautiful Jasmine, at the age of 22, saved and saved and finally got enough to get the rest of the money to buy her 1st car at $7,500 with a loan from her bank. She was so excited she had tears in her eyes. She has never asked for anything, and this was the most special moment for her. We all remember our 1st car. She washed and detailed it and put her little bits and bobs in it, a new air freshener, and admired her new love.
Within 2 weeks of getting the car from a private seller, her dreams were crushed by a dishonest person, and the gearbox blew up. This was run on diagnostics and quoted at 5.5k for repairs. 3.5k for a 2nd hand rebuilt gearbox, and 2k for the installation and programming. The car was checked the day of buying, though there was no way we could have known it was going to do this. Jasmine's registration is also due in March which is just horrible timing.
She helps so much financially, and has a kindness that can't be put into words.
Every single person who has ever met Jasmine, knows how hard she works, and the things she has been through and overcome in her young life.
I was diagnosed with cancer when she was 2 years old, she grew up being so tough and put herself last. After treatment for many years, I beat it. Then her grandmother was diagnosed when Jasmine was 12, and Jasmine was the strength we needed to help my beautiful mother beat it too.
She never complained once about having to spend her 13th birthday in the hospital comforting her grandmother who had just had major surgery.
I had a blood clot in my brain in 2018, and as a result, I was diagnosed with generalised photosensitive epilepsy. Jasmine has taken on the role of my primary carer.
She will uber or walk to wherever she needs, to be by my side, and won't leave me. She gave up getting her licence and a car as it was a scary, expensive, and turbulent time, then covid hit! She spent her 18th birthday in lockdown. Still didn't complain.
On top of all this, Jasmine has her own medical issues that is under specialist care, and suffers with debilitating pain from her condition and her medication is around $300 a month. With possible surgery looming in the not too distant future.
Jasmine is continually helping with financial burdens, and never complains. She is constantly saying "Don't worry, I got you!" to anyone needing help. This is what kills me.
I am trying to help with this as much as I can, though I seem to be going backwards as in just 7 weeks we have sadly lost 4 pets, her car is not going, my car stopped yesterday, and our backup needs repairs too. Jasmine had covid when one of her pets passed, so we couldn't even comfort her, I was very sick with a respiratory illness, Jasmine was done wrong by a bank manager and her perfect credit score was dramatically affected. We have tried everything. I will even sell my car for her. Though if I did, it would be adding yet another thing on this beautiful girls plate.
These are just a few things that have happened in the last few weeks. She has had enough.
I have never known anyone so kind and caring like Jasmine. She would help anyone. Always has. Her level of compassion is far beyond anything I have ever known. And I am trying to sell as much as I can to put towards her car repairs, though it is tough.
Even $5 would help this beautiful girl get her car back on the road, so she can be a normal young woman for once in her life.
She had to grow up so fast, and you can see the pain behind her smile.
We are never people who publicly share problems, but this is now a desperate attempt as a 1st car is a memory forever. She needs a good memory, not a crushing one due to a dishonest person.
Giving up buying that coffee, will show this beautiful girl the world is still a good place. And people do care.
If you have read this far, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness. ❤️
