It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce the death of our beloved mother Amanda Jane Hill (Woodley)
Our Mum died suddenly on the 02.03.2021 after years of battling to get her life back on track. She made an incredible effort to rehabilitate and work hard to become the woman she was on the day she passed away.
She had such a hard life, her early life marred with growing up in and out of the care system . With little family supporting her whilst oftern being left to look after her five younger siblings. With many systems completely failing to support her or help her.
Mum had a lifetime of mental health issues, domestically abusive relationships, social services involvement. Just two years ago mum was living on the streets of cardiff after becoming the victim of drug dealers whom had taken over her home.
Over the past year mum had fought hard to put her life back together, managing to take her husband and herself off the streets and into a b&b, eventually being housed in a lovely little one bed flat in Taffs Well. Her husbands health has since declined and subsequently mum was left to become his full time carer.
Despite all of her lifelong troubles she was finally able to get clean, she fought hard to rebuild relationships with us her four children and her family. She got a job working for the big issue, and despite people’s opinions on this she got up every single day for the past 4 years to go out and sell the big issue and make an honest living.
After loosing both our parents over the past 4 months through similar stories we hope to set up a foundation to provide suport to other people who are dealing with the loss of a parent or guardian through mental health homelessness or drug addictions.
At this point in time we are unsure of how mum passed. It was so sudden, but we know how much it has hurt to loose both our parents in similar situations within just four months of each other.
Starting with a gofundme page in order to make this a reality. We want to make a difference and put such a negative life experience into something that will have a positive impact on other people in our situation for years to come.
