As cities around the world are coming together to fight for the end of police brutality and systematic racism, it is also important for smaller communities: local businesses, schools, and organizations to stand up and support this fight. For a community that is actively engaged and working together becomes a much stronger one—allowing for more positive changes to occur.
Wentworth Institute of Technology’s National Society of Black Engineers (WIT-NSBE) and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (WIT-SHPE) would like to express our deepest condolences to family of George Floyd, and we stand together to fight for the countless brothers and sisters who have lost their lives due to the racial injustices in our country.
To start a movement on campus, WIT-NSBE and WIT-SHPE are coming together to establish a donation campaign that will help fund the following areas and strengthen the Black Lives Matter cause:
1. Black Lives Matter Boston
2. Campaign Zero
3. NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund
We ask you to join us and help us reach our initial goal of raising $25,000. Please share this page to families, friends, classmates, co-workers, and other personal/professional networks. Together—We can bring justice and change to our communities.
If you cannot donate, here are other ways you can help support the BLM cause (click for resources).
If you have any questions please reach out to:
