Wispa's Wish

Firstly a bit of background about how I came to rescue Wispa. The short of it.... In Nov 2017 I came across a gumtree advert, £100 with the description.... "need rid of the dog as his services are no longer needed" I travelled to Wales to collect him, I arrived to find the front garden covered in animal traps making me wonder what they'd used him for. The bloke dragged Wispa down the path out of the back garden, tail between his legs and shaking like a leaf, he was followed by 6 Staffordshire bull terriers barking and all off lead. He was terrified. The previous owner said he had sired 6litters and was rubbish at coursing therefore not a dog they can keep. Anyway I took him home, he jumped straight on the sofa and the rest is history. His weight went from 12.5kg to 16.5kg in a matter of 6mnths ❤️

Recently Wispa's life has changed. He has begun to sneeze horrifically.....Yes sneeze..... Reverse sneezing, normal sneezing and coughing. He struggles with his day to day life, Ive never seen such a depressed dog, he always use to run and be free but now..... He plods along behind me. The spark in his eyes have gone, even sleeping is too much, he has a large amount of mucus and can hardly breathe through his nose.

He has been for x-ray's and an Endoscopy, the vet reported he'd never seen such a bad case and could barely gain entry through the right nasal cavity with the camera because the amount of mucus, visibility was minimal. A sample was taken and has been sent to the lab. The results showed the bacterial infection Pasteurella after a 30day course of abx and no real improvement, the vet feels its a foreign body lodged somewhere. They said there's no way we can leave him in this state and he'll need a CT head, neck and chest at Cave specialist vet hospital which he is having today (30th June) I had a phone call this morning from the vet saying the estimated price is reaching £4,000 plus with potential further Endoscopes and biopsies .

I have been in contact with Southern Lurcher Lifeline a charity who have been fantastic and offered a whopping £2,500 towards his treatment. They've suggested I set up this crowd funding page to go help with the remaining costs of his treatment.

So I'm asking (something I rarely ever do) for your help. If you could spare £2 even. Anything will help get my boy get back to the whippet he is in his heart, the front runner of my pack, back to his normal daily life.
