Wipe Away Amanda's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
As many of you know my daughter Amanda was diagnosed with an oligodendroglioma, a form of brain cancer, over 10 years ago. We understood from the beginning that the nature of this cancer is to finger out, so total removal was impossible. She underwent surgical excision at the Cleveland Clinic shortly after her initial diagnosis, followed by a year of chemotherapy. The goal was not curative, but to keep it at bay as long as possible. Because Amanda’s cancer had some specific chromosomal deletions, she responded amazingly well to the chemo meds, going over 10 years without recurrence. Unfortunately, her last MRI showed progression of the cancer. Surgery is not an option in this situation because the cancer cells are located in the motor strip and the risk of motor deficits outweighs any benefit of surgery. However, the chromosomal deletion made her an excellent candidate for chemotherapy and radiation. Amanda began radiation and chemotherapy on July 17th at the Cleveland Clinic. She receives radiation 5 days per week for a total of 6 weeks along with an initial 42 days of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy will most likely continue one week per month for the next 6-12 months.  Amanda has had to take a leave of absence from work to remain in Cleveland and unfortunately costs are starting to mount up.  She remains positive as her entire world once again has been flipped upside down and somehow moves forward with a remarkable attitude.  However, she is also showing signs of worry about medical bills and the cost of ongoing cancer treatment.   Amanda is so grateful to be receiving treatment at the Cleveland Clinic and to have the ongoing support and prayers of loving family and friends.  Many have asked about having a fundraiser.  If you would like to help out this amazing young woman with the cost of medical treatment and lessen the worry of medical cost, please donate and feel free to share with others we may have missed.  Thank you all for the endless encouragement, positive thoughts, prayers, and well wishes.  You are all part of our team.....
