Winter Solstice Swim - Loaves and Fishes Tasmania

Donation protected
Winter Solstice Swim Sunday the 21st June 2020 @9am - Shortest Day of The Year.

For the past couple of years a mate and I have been immersing ourselves in the cold waters of the Launceston Cataract Gorge as part of the Winter Solstice. A similar event happens in the South of Tasmania as part of the Dark Mofo.

The plan is to raise some money and awareness for the Loaves and Fishes Tasmania charity and to encourage others to test the waters.

Loaves & Fishes Tasmania rescues surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, ensuring Tasmanians who go without have access to fresh produce and ready to eat meals.
Loaves & Fishes Tasmania produces a range of gourmet foods, jams and sauces sold online and through retail outlets. All profits go in to programs and services directly benefiting vulnerable Tasmanians.

Cold water is really good for the body and I have personally been having cold showers every morning for the past 3 months.

Below are some of the positives from cold water therapy.
·         Puts you out of your comfort zone.

·         Makes you feel alive

·         Feel fresh immediately

·         Will be one of the hardest things you do in the day (makes everything else easy)

·         You will be cleaner

·         Good for the skin

·         Reduces muscle inflammation

·         Reduces pain and swelling
