Winter is Coming - Raise the Roof for the Youngs!

The Youngs are in desperate need of a new roof before winter in the Shenandoah Valley hits. Their roof is worn out and leaking into the house. The tarps currently on the roof are not a sustainable solution to make it through the winter. Ed was working to replace the roof when he became too sick to continue working this past summer. He has been diagnosed with a terminal illness resulting from his years as a first responder in California. They are now waiting to see if he will be approved for disability, a lengthy and time-consuming process even when expedited. Kira lost her job with FEMA helping disaster victims a year ago. She started a new full-time job in October, but it does not cover all the bills or offer health insurance for the first 6 months. Because she is now working, however, Kira and Ed are in danger of losing their government medical insurance. The Youngs have enough to manage just with ensuring Ed gets the medical care he needs and raising their 14-year old son. Let's help this working family get a new roof over their heads by Christmas!
