Fund for homeless, disadvantaged students in need

Donation protected

Update: As students being to attend school, theywill be in need of basic necessities that many of  us take for granted. We have a homeless fund at my school and an Outreach closet. The closet is essentially a mini store for anything a student in need might need (hygiene products, shoes, shirtssocks, underwear, dressy clothes for interviews, school supplies, etc. My school also helps
families with groceries, rent, utilities. Please.        consider making any small donation and sharing. These are tough times for all and my students
need support more than ever.

Warmly,

Allison Gray

Update:

I just wanted to extend my sincerest and everlasting gratitude for my family, friends, community members, and strangers who came together to contribute and raise over $950 for my high school students in need of winter gear and food care packages for the holidays. This has been a tough year filled with heartbreak, worry and division. Despite all of that, you all came together to show love and support for students that many of you do not even know. I am not sure you realize how much of a difference you will make in their lives when they look back and remember the support they received when times were dark and seemed hopeless. In my opinion, high schoolers are (at times) “forgotten” about because they are seen as young adults who can handle themselves, but let me tell you, they need as much care as our younger students. With your donation, my students (and I mean all of the students in need at my school) will be warm and fed this winter holiday and I cannot think of a bigger blessing than that. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
If you would still like to donate, this page will be open until November 20th, so that there is time to begin preparing care packages.
All my love,
Allison

Hi,

My name is Allison Gray and I am a teacher at Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke, Va.  PH is an inner city school and we cater to a significant number of homeless students and economically disadvantaged students. My students are my pride and joy and it breaks my heart to think that as it starts to get cooler, they may be without necessary winter items and food over break. The SCA and PTSA Outreach from my school are currently looking for donations of  Granola Bars, NEW Winter Gloves, Hats, Scarfs, and Socks to create packages to send home to our students in need over the holidays. I know this is a tough time for all, but any contribution would really make a difference in the lives of our students who are in need of the bare necessities. Please consider donating as you have the ability to provide comfort to a child in need.

P.S. The deposit from the GoFundMe will be deposited in a bank account with the school, not my personal account, and once I have that information, it will change from my name to the school officials name. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions :)

Kindly,
