UPDATE 07/29/2014:
We are pleased to update all of you that have generously supported Annie and her family in her time of need.
Annie has started a treatment program that consists of fluids, pills, and shots. Each day Annie starts her day with a pill. This medicine is to stop the cancer cells from duplicating. Once a month she goes to a cancer treatment center where she has medicine flushed through her body. This is a long process, taking hours. This medicine strengthens her bones as her bones have become weakened by the cancer. After the fluid is flushed through her body, she takes a shot in her stomach that actually attacks and kills the cancer cells.
What does this all mean? ...
So far, her body is fighting the cancer and she does not have as much pain in her neck and back. Her levels have risen slightly since starting the treatment, but this is common and our prayers are that, as seen in many cases, her levels will start to decline shortly.
We will keep you informed on this current treatment. If there is not a positive change she will be starting chemotherapy in the near future.

Annie's Story:
Annie Giannino Wojtanowski, Jersey's mom and John's wife, was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer just a few weeks ago. Annie has been very strong and received much support from friends and family, but there is a long road ahead and not much time to waste.
Annie's first surgery is scheduled for June 13th, 2014, where she will undergo a double masectomy, with potential chemotherapy treatments to follow - as the doctors are still hopeful that the surgery alone may be enough.

All who know her are humbled by her strength, amazing attitude towards life, work and, now, this disease. She is taking her cancer on face to face, determined to defeat it.
What brings Annie the most joy is caring for her family by always cooking big family dinners, home-cooked school lunches for Jersey and always doing fun activities as a family. These are just a few examples of things that Annie will not be able to do for a while. Any donations would help in providing a few of those joys through alternate means, as simple as dinners ordered in...
What will your donation go toward? Everything from co-payments and perscritption drugs to take-out meals or simply helping to make ends meet when the sick days are too many to count and the hospital bills continue to arrive.
This fund was established by Annie's co-workers, who are so proud to know her and who finally get a chance to support her after she has supported them on a daily basis for over 10 years!
