Wings 4 Tyrez

God has taken one of his angels home with him on January 19, 2018 at the age of 20 years old. Tyrez's Story At the age of 7 years old, Tyrez was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, a genetic disease that causes progressive weakness and a loss of muscle mass. He has endured surgeries to improve his quality of life, which included a rod being placed in his back to help him sit straight in his wheelchair, which greatly improved his breathing. Tyrez had a feeding tube placed to assist with keeping his weight up, also he had a couple of different machines to help keep his lungs clear. Tyrez was a remarkable young man who never accepted that his life had any limitations. He strived to lead as normal life as possible and when he could not, he didn't just let those times just pass by. Tyrez studied.... Everything, whether it was football, politics, people, visit games, he had a keen sense of knowing when something was off with someone. He was very intelligent and could talk to anyone about anything for hours. He always put others before himself and he never met a stranger. Tyrez touched anyone who has the pleasure of coming in contact with him. When Tyrez was 12 years old he had an opportunity to go to a week long sleep away camp for children who shared his chronic disease. Tyrez feared the unknown and elected not to go. The following year he had the same opportunity and he felt the same but his mother wouldn't allow it and elected to send him anyway. The whole trip up there to drop him off he was cranky, but relaxed when he met his counselors. We left him knowing he was in good hands. When we went to pick him up, something was different about him. When he got in the car he started to cry uncontrollably. He said for the first time in his life, there want anything he couldn't do at the camp, he did everything. It was at that very moment he realized that he was only as limited as his dreams and would not be defined by his disabilities, only by his accomplishments. Tyrez graduated from high school with his class in 2016 and had been accepted to Georgia State University for fall of 2018. A week before Tyrez passed away, he was diagnosed with the flu. He was receiving treatment and had shown many signs of improvement. The morning of January 19 started like any other until he suddenly stopped breathing. His mother administered CPR and he started to breath again. However, due to the weakened condition of his heart because of his chronic illness, it simply could not withstand the stress. Tyrez is survived by his mother, Sakeenah Ford, his father Hughie Washington, his to sisters, Tatyana,Tanisha, and Taylor niece, Eva, grandmother and best friend Ella Ford, cousin and best friend Jacob Whatley and much more family and countless amount of friends. Any contribution will be appreciated.
