Dear New Haven Age Group Track Club Friends,
In recognition of Coach William R. Thompson who passed away on June 29th, 2014, We are asking for donations in any amount to place a park bench and plaque inside Bowen Field in his honor.
Coach Thompson was involved in the New Haven Age group Track program for over 38 years. The number of particpants ranging from age 5 to adulthood that Coach Thompson trained, nurtured and guided is insurmountable.
There will be an official ribbon cutting dedication ceremony held in late April/May for the newly renovated Bowen Field . During this ceremony, we will introduce the bench and plaque in honor of Coach William Thompson.
The amount we are looking to raise is $3500.00 for a cast iron bench, concrete pad and bronze plaque with Coach Thompsons's accomplishments with the NHAGTC.
We believe this acknowledgement in his name will remind children, parents, grandparents and friends the impact Coach Thompson has left on each and every life he has touched.
It is with great pride and humility that this committee reaches out to everyone to help make this monumental acknowlegement possible.
