William Thurman Medical and Funeral

Most of you know by now that William “Bill” Thurman lost his battle with life on June 13, 2017.  This was an ongoing battle, as Bill loved life so much, and fought so very hard to stay with us.  The fight for his life is over but the medical expenses stayed.

For those of you that knew Bill, knew he was one of the most amazing, loving men I had ever known.  He opened his home to my family, myself, and many of you!!! He treated us, you and I, as we were part of his family.  I am sure many of you remember his greetings, those great big hugs he gave, because he was so excited to see you!  When his family or friends walked into any room remember how his eyes just lit up every time.
Bill Thurman was diagnosed in 2008 with very rare stage 4 ductile breast cancer with lymph node involvement (less than 1% develop in men).  He underwent aggressive chemotherapy as well as a mastectomy and then was diagnosed a second time in 2012, with stage 1 breast cancer without lymph node involvement thus resulting removal of the other breast.

Even though the chemo had destroyed his capability to walk and run and limiting his mobility, he was still as vivacious and active as he could be.  His family would drop him off at Tijeras Creek golf course or take him to his favorite places, because he wanted to visit with friends.  He never missed a family function.  He just had a lust for life and to be present with everyone he loved.

The reason for doing this is because many of you asked to how to donate to Bill’s widow, Dolores Thurman.  So being a very close family friend, I put together this crowd-funding page hoping to help ease the excessive medical expenses that accrued over time.   Let's honor this veteran and show the Thurman's the love they have always shared with  each and every one of us.
Bill’s service will be held at St Killians Church in 3 weeks I will update this on exact time and date.

Thank you all so much for your time and donations support and love. Bill Thurman was just as rare as his cancer. We sure will miss you Bill you were a great man!

Also, please share with everyone your memories with your donation. We love hearing Papa stories. :)
