Hello Friends and Family!
For those of you who don't know, Will has been fighting End Stage Renal Disease for over 12 years. He has been going to dialysis three times a week and endured multiple fistulagrams throughout this time. It has been physically, emotionally and mentally exhausting for him. It's been a very tough road but the support of friends and family has been amazing. Will has been on the waiting list for quite some time, but on Thursday, June 4th, he received news that he would be getting a transplant. The surgery was a success and Will is currently recovering at St. Barnabas Hospital in New Jersey.
Melissa and I (Michelle Hernandez) share 3 beautiful daughters with Will. Tatiana Hernandez-Mitchell is 21 years old and has just recently graduated from Syracuse University, Jasmine Mitchell is 14 years old and has recently graduated 8th grade and will be attending PCTI in the Fall and Mya Mitchell is 12 years old and will be going into 7th grade. Will is very proud of all of his daughters and has always told me that he wants to watch them grow up and enjoy every moment with them. Will is a dedicated father and has been a part of the Home & School in the Garfield School District for almost 10 years. He has been present for every awards ceremony, dance recital, volleyball/basketball game, concert, fundraiser etc. You name it, he was there!
Although receiving a transplant is a true blessing, it does come with a cost and a variety of expenses. Some of those expenses include medical bills, insurance premiums and anti-rejection medications that he will need for the rest of his life.
We understand the world is under a tough economic crisis right now, but we are asking for your help. Please consider a donation. No amount is too small and any amount will help! All donation proceeds will go directly to Will for his transplant and other medical related expenses. We appreciate all of your kindness, support, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Quick Update Everyone - We did not expect to reach our goal of $5000 so quickly. The love was overwhelming. Our first goal was to ease the burden of Will’s medical expenses and medications and as you all know, they can be astronomical! Anything more will go that much further!
