William " Bill" served with honor for over 25 years in the US Navy. From the shores of Vietnam to the Persian Gulf. As for his love of this country, William joined the Navy after graduating from Green Bay West High School as like many of his other family members who have a long tradition of serving.
Bill did two tours of duty in Vietnam. Bill escorted the Marines back home from the Beirut Terrorist Attack back in the 1980's. Bill also served as Fleet Command for the Persian Gulf.
Bill served on many vessels inside the Navy from DDG's, Frigates, to submarines.
Bill has been honored with numerous awards and citations from the US Navy and from former US Presidents.
Bill was a true American hero. He believed in Family, Country and God.
Bill was a devoted husband for almost 50 years, loving father, and loyal warrior for his Country.
Bill is currently under hospice in his home in Green Bay. His time is drawing near rapidly, but as the warrior he is fighting to the end. As with many of our veterans service time takes it's toll on the body such as in Bill's case from a wide range of issues including: cancer, dementia, and heart issues.
As a decorated veteran the family sons Chris and Kevin are raising a memorial fund to help pay for his funeral costs,to give the tribute to him as the hero he is. Also to try to keep his wife Carol in their home along with donation to the Veterans Association. The proceeds will be given to his surviving wife Carol to distribute. Update It is with a heavy heart that Bill passed away this evening, November 13, 2019, around 6 o’clock pm, surrounded by family and friends. He died with a the dignity that a warrior deserves.
