One of our dad's favourite sayings was, "We’ll sort it tomorrow." He always believed there’d be time to fix things, and there was never any doubt in his mind that he’d be here to help us sort everything out. "Don’t you worry, your Dad will sort it out!" he’d say.
Sadly, the last series of illnesses proved too much for him, and he lost his fight. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to sort everything out in time. Nevertheless, we want to give our dad the send-off he deserves, honouring the life he lived and the person he was before we lost him.
Beneath his tough exterior, Dad had a heart of gold. He would do anything to help others, always offering to fix things or lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Now, it’s our turn to take care of his final journey.
Dad wasn’t much of a drinker, except for a wee dram to celebrate Hogmanay or special occasions. So, if you’d like to raise a glass in celebration of who he was and the memories you shared with him, we kindly ask you to consider making a small donation to help with his farewell.
Your contribution will not only help us with the funeral costs, but it will also ensure that Dad’s memory is celebrated in the way he deserves. No matter how small, each donation will be deeply appreciated, and we truly believe that each gesture will be a beautiful part of the farewell we give him. Your gesture will allow us to honour Dad in a way that feels right and reflect the kindness and love he showed to others in his lifetime.
If by chance, any funds raised above what we asked for help towards the funeral we will donate to the Canine Rescue in Glencaple, a local charity that meant a great deal to both Dad and us. This was a cause close to his heart, and we can think of no better way to honour his legacy than by helping the animals that he so dearly cared about.
We understand that everyone will be feeling the loss with us and it would mean the world to us if you could contribute to his send-off. Dad would never have wanted to leave us under these circumstances, but we know he would be touched to think that the "pints" raised in his honour could go towards something more meaningful – helping us give him the best farewell we possibly can as well as potentially supporting a cause he held dear.
There is space for 98 at the crematorium and we would love to have you all with us at the funeral to say a final goodbye to our Dad. However, if you can’t make it we will be livestreaming the service so if you would like to watch to still be present, please get in touch with us, and we will send you the link.
Thank you so much for your support, love, and kindness during this difficult time. we knew and loved, and now your contribution will help ensure his memory lives on in the most fitting way.
Thank you for taking the time to read this,
Jake & Mollie
