“WILL” POWER
As our friend Will gears up for his toughest battle to date, let’s continue to show our support and help lessen the burden in any way we can.
Will was diagnosed with a Medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer, at the young age of six (June 2013). He underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy at that time. In November 2016, during a routine MRI scan, the doctor’s found a new tumor along the brain stem. Given the location of the tumor, surgery was not an option. Two months later, the tumor had doubled in size and Will was started on chemotherapy again. The tumor is in a place where it impacts his strength, balance and coordination on the right side of his body—the more tired he is, the more noticeable it is. But the WARRIOR inside pushes him to be active and play his favorite sport: baseball. He recently finished up his 8th cycle of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the cancer has found a way to “out smart” the chemotherapy. Will’s most recent MRI scan, done approximately three weeks ago, revealed that his main brain tumor has grown and it’s now starting to penetrate the area of the brain around it. In addition, a new tumor was found in the left frontal lobe of his brain.
Will & his family continue to work tirelessly with the doctors to find a way to combat the cancer. He is scheduled to undergo a biopsy in an effort to qualify for a Phase 1 clinical trial. Once all results are in, Will and his family will push to get him in the most promising Phase 1 trial and wage war on the cancer yet again.
