BattleBots 2020 We Choose You!

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Our purpose for this GoFundMe page:

If you are a BattleBots fan, or even if you’re new to BattleBots, it is expensive to create, build and transport a 250 pound robot, replacement parts and tools. We want to give you the opportunity to help support us financially. We are seeking $2,000. All donations will be used to build (and rebuild :) ) our bot. No donation is too small! No team member shall profit from this effort.

If for any reason our robot does not compete or if Season 5 does not happen, all donations will be refunded. No bots have yet been accepted into the competition and Season 5 has not yet been approved. This GoFundMe will be updated with any new news. #WeWantSeason5

What is BattleBots?

BattleBots is a robot combat competition that takes place in an elimination style. Teams of robot builders come from all over the world with their garage-built creations to compete and entertain.  Combat robotics debuted on television in 2000, Battlebots continues to carry the torch today, and has brought huge mainstream popularity to robot combat.

The theme for our robot and team plays off of the terms used for the fighting forces of ancient Greece and Rome.

Check out our website: Phalanxrobotics.com for some more info about the bot and our team members.

Terms:

Phalanx - A body of troops or police officers standing or moving in close formation. Our team name is Phalanx Robotics Co.

Aegis - A shield carried primarily by Zeus in Greek mythology. Aegis is the name of our bot (hence why it looks like a shield!)

Our goal:

We need your help to make it on the t.v. show. Andrew Godfrey, Chris Sparzo, Alex Judge, Danielle Rossillo, and Colin Stevens  love the show BattleBots and have invented this fighting robot in hopes of entering the competition for a chance of going head to head with some of the greatest combat robots ever built!

A little more about our team: Andrew, Chris and Alex are college friends/recent graduates who hold Engineering degrees from Purdue University in Indiana. We have previously worked together, while in college, to create an energy efficient vehicle and compete in the Shell Eco Marathon in 2017 in Sonoma, California. We love creating, inventing and competing. Each of us has a full time job in engineering in various capacities and in various locations across the US. Danielle, also a team member is a recent college grad and teacher who designed our web site. We have launched this project for fun during our spare time. Colin has extensive experience in electronics design; is working to build and assemble all the electronic components of Aegis.

With loads of blood, sweat, luck, and hopefully not tears we can't wait to make this thing happen!
