There is no other way to describe Mike and Shannon Wilkes but to say that they are a blessing to everyone around them. Mike and Shannon have blessed people, young and old, through their acts of service in ways that you know and more that you don’t. However for several years, Shannon has struggled with numerous health issues, the cause of which was unknown until now. Several months ago, Mike, Shannon along with their children Kennedy and Cameron learned that the source of Shannon’s health issues was rampant mold throughout their home in Tampa, Florida.

As such, they began and will soon conclude the long process of gutting their home to the studs. Because of the nature of mold, this also means they disposed of nearly all of their belongings, from furniture to their children’s favorite stuffed animals. All of this while Shannon continues to undergo treatment and detoxify the mold from her system.

You’ve likely not heard about this situation until now, because while Mike and Shannon’s lives have been turned upside down, they simply continued to find ways to be of service to others.

As Mike, Shannon, Kennedy and Cameron’s church family, we are sharing this with you now because last week they learned that their insurance claim was denied and they must shoulder more than $180,000 in expenses on their own. All of this, while Shannon’s health struggles continue.
