You may have seen my post on Saturday night after "Wilfred" the Labrador was hit by a car on Brysons Road, Warrandyte South. I was able to assist on arrival at the scene and I took him straight to the Ringwood Emergency Vet Centre (he was unfortunately without his electronic boundary collar). Fortunately, through my post, Wilfred was able to be reunited with his very distressed Dad (Kieren McGregor - who's family have lived in the area for many years) on Sunday. Wilfred this evening was being operated on to treat, correct and pin his 2 broken back legs by a Specialist Surgeon. With great care and management, physio and lots of rehab and buckets of love, it is hopeful that he will regain the use of his legs and live his life to the fullest.
The cost for this is high, not only emotionally but financially as well.
His care and surgery at the Emergency Centre has been quoted at $8000!!
Kieren has agreed to allow me to try and raise some funds to assist him with this huge bill.
When I put up the post on the two community pages (Warrandyte and Wonga Park), I had over 100 "likes" on FB. I now implore each of you that responded positively to that post, to again respond positively to lend your support, in a monetary way this time.
Kieren has commenced paying the bill and his credit card is going to be getting a good working out by the time he is able to bring his beloved best mate home. Wilfred has another little mate at home pining for him, in Lexie, the Smithfield Terrier.
I would love to think that we as a community, can help out Kieren and Wildred and contribute at least $1000 to put towards the bill.
Thanks in advance,
