WILDLIFE SANCTUARY FORCED TO CLOSE - URGENT HELP

Please help me help them -

Wirrimbirra Sanctuary in NSW has been forced to close down as they have to vacate the national trust land they are on - as a widlife carer I can empathise with how heartbreaking this is for the staff and volunteers who have dedicated so much in looking after the animals and birds at Wirrimbirra.

Oolandra Wildlife Sanctuary was recently approached by Wirrimbirra to assist them in finding new homes for the wallabies, kangaroos and emus that are still at the sanctuary.

The good news is that after some enquiries I have found new homes for these animals.  The bad news is that we are all self funded volunteers with no government assistance so we need to raise funds quickly in order to relocate these animals before time runs out.  Oolandra is self-funded and I have recently been made redundant from my job (need to work to pay for the sanctuary) so am asking for your help so that these animals that are losing their homes are given a chance at new locations.

WE ONLY HAVE 3 WEEKS BEFORE THEY HAVE TO VACATE THE PREMISES

As the animals are not used to close human contact and trying to catch them manually will be highly stressful they will all need to be tranquilised by a qualified and trained chemical immobiliser and then transported to their new homes by people experienced in the relocation of macropods (wallabies/kangaroos).  This all costs money and without money we will be unable to help all of the animals needing assistance.

Funds are required for the sedation medications, tranquiliser darts, worming medications, travel costs for those , hire of enclosed horse box for the emus,  supplementary feed whilst the animals adjust to their new environment (this is a slowly staged process as it is not appropriate to just dump/release animals in an area they are not used to), ongoing feed for the emus which cannot be released,  any associated vet bills that may arise from the relocation.

We really appreciate any donation, no matter how small, as every $ helps.

And for any wonderful people that would like to make a one off or regular donation to Oolandra Wildlife Sanctuary to help us with our rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife, please visit us on facebook or paypay.me/oolandra

THANKING EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR GENEROSITY
