Wil Ohler Leukemia Fund

Donation protected
On Thursday, May 18, 2017, Wil Ohler was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL).  That morning, his mom, Tamara took Wil to the pediatrician because he was struggling to get over a sinus infection, he had developed sores on the insides of his cheeks, and he had a huge contusion on his elbow. His elbow had swollen to at least three times its normal size and was black and blue...just from hitting it on a table at school. His nose was bleeding a bit, which was attributed to a broken blood vessel in his nose, and he had lots of bruises which were attributed to being a hard-core soccer goalie. If you know Wil, you know just how hard he plays. As he was being evaluated, the doctor seemed concerned with some bleeding from other areas such as his gums and from minor cuts on his arms and legs. After some discussion, the doctor said that he thought it "could be leukemia" based on his extreme fatigue, the bruising, headaches, swollen lymph nodes, and bleeding. They would need to draw some labs.

Later that day, the lives of the entire Ohler family changed. Wil, an extremely fit and talented, elite soccer player was inexplicably given the worst news that a 16-year-old could ever receive. He had leukemia.  The reality of his diagnosis still hasn't fully sunk in.

Wil went through CAT scans, x-rays, blood work, a line in his femoral artery, a lumbar puncture (spinal tap), pheresis, and started chemotherapy the same day he was diagnosed. He will be going through the worst pain of his life for the next 7-9 months as he follows a very intense chemotherapy plan.

Please help us take some of the financial burdens off of the Ohler family so that they can focus all of their attention to helping Wil heal and fight this horrible disease.

Much love to you all,
Brandi
