Widow's vet Fund

Donation protected
Widow is a 4-month old German Shepherd who injured the growth plate in her left foreleg. She was diagnosed with Angular Limb Deformity. This means one of the bones in her front leg kept growing while the injured growth plate stopped the growth of the other bone. This causes the uninjured bone to deform into a curve. As she continues to grow, this problem will get worse and worse and she will be in increasing pain. Surgery is the only chance to fix this and give her a pain free life.

Her owner wasn't able to keep her and returned her to me, her breeder. The surgical repair will be expensive, but it should give her a normal, pain-free life. Once Widow has received the medical care she needs, she will be looking for a permanent home (if you are interested, please feel free to contact me), but until then she will have a loving home with me.

*update*
Widow has an appointment on June 28 with a top orthopedic surgeon at the vet school at Univ. of Tennessee. The vet thinks she will need 3 osteotomies (in one surgery) done on her left leg and they should be able to install a plate instead of an external fixator to hopefully fix the injured elbow. Surgery is expected to cost $3500-$4000 and will likely be done the day following the UT appointment.
