I lost my husband to a tragic accident a few weeks ago. I'm 74 years old and we had no life insurance. We have no children and Peanut was our furkid but mostly she was my husband's dog since he rescued her. I had to rush her to the emergency vet 5 days ago on a Saturday because she couldn't pee. She had a catheter in her all weekend until she could have an operation for bladder stones. Unfortunately, she had to be put under a second time to remove another stone. I was hoping to bring her home the day after the operation but there are further complications, and they want to keep her longer. It's going on 6 days that she is hospitalized and the costs are just growing.
The bill is up to $10,000. I'm using up my savings but I can't lose Peanut, especially so soon after losing my husband. I don't know what I'm going to do. The hospital bills for my husband still haven't come in yet. I'll be living on only my social security which is $1400 a month.
I never thought I would have to ask for charity but I can't give up on my dog. I'm having trouble writing this through the tears.
Thank you in advance for your help.
