Mary Kay Rozema, is a Registered Nurse of Twenty-eight years with a strong passion for caring for others. She has continuously worked at Palos Hospital here in the South Chicago Suburban Community since becoming a Registered Nurse, sharing her kindness and understanding with all its patients while caring for the ones we love and hold so dear in our hearts. Shortly after completing college, Mary-Kay married her high school sweetheart, Wayne in May, 1990. Mary Kay and Wayne had three beautiful boys, Micael, David, and, John. The Rozema family had a strong bond and spent the majority of their time together doing things they loved as a family like going fishing and swimming in Lake Michigan and having family cook-outs and watching football and hockey. But in March of 2010, Mary Kay endured the tragic loss of her husband Wayne to a devastating illness. Mary Kay lost her Husband, High School Sweetheart and Best Friend; and, The Rozema boys - lost their Dad, Confidant and Best Friend. Wayne's loss was a tragedy that weighed heavy on the Rozema hearts, putting the family in a state of financial privation. A couple years later, while still figuring out life as a single mother of three growing, high school boys, Mary Kay's parents became ill, requiring daily, and nearly round-the-clock care. Mary Kay dedicated her life to caring for her parents anytime she was not at Palos Hospital caring for our families and loved ones. With the help of her boys, and her brother, Randy, Mary Kay continued caring for her parents 12-24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for 5 years until they passed in 2016 & 2017, respectively. After working through her grief and finally getting settled into her new routine and experiencing the luxury of free time for the first time in nearly a decade - Mary Kay was diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer in August, 2018. Upon being diagnosed, Mary Kay was put on leave from work, and left with no alternative but to live off her Savings – which will soon be depleted in its entirety - causing extreme financial hardship for the Rozema family. Mary Kay has dedicated her life to caring for others and so many of our families right here in the South Chicago Suburban Community; and, now she needs our help. Please, if you can find it in your heart to make even a small donation to help Mary Kay through this difficult time, it would be so very greatly appreciated.
