Wickus Viljoen Medical Fund

Wickus (“Vickus”) is a 10-year-old boy who lives in Fleming Island, FL.  He has always been healthy and active until a few months ago when he started complaining about headaches.
  His pediatrician was concerned about where he was getting the headaches, so she sent him for an MRI.  
  After numerous scans our lives' changed forever and in just weeks the spot on his brain pretty much doubled in size.  The tumor was removed two days later and identified as a Glioblastoma tumor.   This is one of the worst brain tumors someone can develop.  The biopsies confirmed that the cancer has already spread throughout the left frontal lobe of his brain. 
  He is scheduled to start radiation the week of September 17th and will be undergoing chemotherapy after that.  The family is looking at all kinds of additional therapies and solutions to help him while he undergoes radiation and chemo.  None of the alternative therapies are covered by insurance and are extremely expensive.
