WickFest - A Weekend of Girls Empowerment & Sport

Donation protected
Canadian Tire WickFest Fuelled by Gatorade
is a multi-weekend event that takes place in multiple cities across Canada. The event attracts young female athletes from all walks of life and competitive levels to take part in a series of hockey games in a highly-organized tournament with killer swag - but even more importantly - a series of clinics and workshops that are designed to develop not just the player, but the whole person. It's a girl-powered weekend!

WickFest does all this while donating all proceeds to JumpStart , so all kids can play!

What will you do with my hard-earned cash?

Covid-19 has wreaked havoc on so many people's lives and livelihoods. Events, live performance and sports were just some of those industries, so it's with hope and happiness that we expect to be hosting WickFest in November 2021, February 2022 and the Spring of 2022.
While we know it will take years to fully recover, we know that in times of trial, the communities of sport and song are communities built on strength-of-character and we believe that we can get through it, when we pull together. Song has always carried our spirits in times of trouble, that's why we're so honoured to be chosen by Kaiya as the recipient of the funds from her virtual concert.

The funds raised from this GoFundMe page will be put towards the costs of the event which may include inviting teams from non-hockey countries to grow their programs, hosting workshops designed for the WickFest participants, creating programs for New Canadians or supporting teams with limited resources to take part in WickFest.

But, REALLY, what is WickFest?
Workshops have covered the gamut, from the power of sleep and nutrition to budgeting or boxing and the opportunity to try luge or wheelchair basketball - and virtually everything in between. Coaches and parents have had their own workshops offered about coaching young women or female-specific health and mental wellness issues. And siblings, well, they can do all of the above, or just have a blast playing any number of entertaining games or shop the exhibitor floor.

The event also gives the young women who attend, and their families, access to public personalities, NHL players, the latest and greatest gear, job opportunities, opportunities to be scouted and just the opportunity to spend time with other strong, like-minded young women with positive aspirations - sometimes from other areas of the world. WickFest has hosted hockey growth opportunities for teams from India, Mexico, Finland and more. You never know who you might run into at the event.

WickFest is a girl-powered weekend like no other.  A little competition. A little learning. A little culture. A little camaraderie. A lot of fun and fundraising for girls around the world.... We will certainly never take that opportunity for granted ever again! ;) We miss all 15,000+ of you!!!
