I am starting a "Making memories" campaign for my sister and her beautiful family (Roy, Jamie and Sam).
The family are one of the most selfless caring and kind ones in existence!
Despite each of them already fighting their own health issues, the family were dealt a serious blow in October this year (2019).
Roy was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma (they are still trying to find the primary cancer at present) it has metastasised to his spine, ribs and hips. One of his vertebrae has been completely replaced by tumour, and he has been issued a DS15 certificate (meaning he has an estimated 6 - 12 months to live).
Previous to this, Roy used to walk and cycle daily until being diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2009. He now can't walk more than a few steps and needs a walker to do this! He also is unable to get upstairs to bed, so has to sleep downstairs and has done for the last 3 months now (another huge strain on them as a family as you can imagine).
Sarah also had an accident in 2011 which resulted in a collapsed lung at the time and lasting nerve issues that mimick or is MS (diagnosis pending). She also suffers with ITP and Hashimotos Thyroiditis, some days she is bad she is unable to move herself and lift objects, yet her and Roy are each others main carers through everything!
Their boys also have fought and continue to fight their own health battles.
Jamie was severely asthmatic as a baby and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2013, and Sam had surgery and a biopsy on a lump in his jaw in 2004 (thankfully benign) however he now suffers with TMJ.
My goal is to raise as much money as possible to help the family make as many precious memories as possible with the time they have together!
Any amount big or small is greatly appreciated by the entire family.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support at this extremely sad time, and any money left over will go to Macmillan Cancer support to help another family in this situation.
