Whitney Johnson Scholarship

Donation protected
On May 6th, AJ Johnson, Tyler Clarhaut, Lebo Pila, Lauren Von Bargen and Katie Pila are proud to announce they will be running the Long Island Marathon and 10k in honor of Whitney Johnson. Whitney Johnson passed away in 2017, at the young age of 28 from a brain aneurysm. In her honor, all of the money raised will be donated towards a scholarship for a selected student graduating from Rancocas Valley high school and attending college in the Fall.  For those of you who did not know Whitney, AJ (Whit’s brother) has put something together to provide everyone with an understanding of just how amazing Whitney was!

“Whitney was one of the most giving people that I knew. A natural introvert, she'd rather be by herself, but when someone was in need or she thought they needed some help, she was someone that would give you her all, and often times, more than that.  Whether it be physical, monetary, or just her time, she was extremely selfless. This was embodied in her work and her career choice. Whitney went to school for sociology and worked in the field, so that she could help those who may not be able to really help themselves.  She was very in touch with her spiritual side and often tried to help others when she could feel they may be down on their luck or not in sync spiritually. Whit also had one of the most contagious smiles I've seen. When she was in a good mood, everyone around her was in a good mood. Whenever a good time was to be had, she was often in the middle of whatever crowd, having all the fun. Just like her personality, when she could sense you weren't on the same good vibes as she, Whit would bring you in and made sure you had a good time.
She loved: Butterflies, red, music/dancing, volunteering, painting, crafts, her family/close friends."

This cause means so much to us that are running and Whitney’s family. We are extremely excited to impact a young person’s life as they prepare to begin a new chapter. We hope (and are sure) Whit is looking down and would be proud of  what we are doing in her honor!

Thank you.
