You may not be aware that GoFundMe takes a percentage of all money raised. It's good, because it's a great platform, and it sure worked for us! But the combination of that cut and the realization that we'll need to pay PROPERTY TAX for the first time at the end of October means that we're extending our goal by another $10,000. We're already a third of the way to the new goal, so just $7,000 to go.
We're not trying to be greedy, just realistic. We need to make sure that we have enough startup funds to start up the new season in January. What's super exciting is that our farm purchase loan includes funds to BUILD A BARN! We've dreamed of having a real barn!

We've been renting our 15-acre farm for 18 years. And now, we finally have the opportunity to buy it and keep it farmed sustainably into the future! But we have a big payment to come up with to secure the loan, and we need your help! We've been given a great price, and great terms, but we have only 15 days left to raise $60,000 or the property will be listed on the real estate market and we will lose it.
We've waited for the opportunity to make this big purchase for years, and our landlords are suddenly ready to sell the property due to health concerns.
We can't let our farm, our livelihood, and our wildlife sanctuary become another piece of over-farmed, underappreciated farmland.
Buying this farm would be the realization of our dream of nearly two decades, and the continuation of that dream is to pass it on to another, younger farmer when we're ready to step down. Your contribution will make this dream a reality, and we have some amazing rewards to offer.
