Whisker Walk Team Kentucky Bluegrass Babes 2020

Tax deductible
Hey y’all, it’s Bishop and Reesa here, the KY Bluegrass Babes!!  It’s that time again - Whisker Walk for Big East Akita Rescue (BEAR)!  And just so you know who we are – intros are in order.

I’m the big, tough guy of the two, a southern boy from Tennessee.  I’d been gallivanting around town with two ropes around my neck, enjoying the wandering life as a young fella, until I was snatched up by some men and dumped in a very noisy place with lots of barking dogs, which I didn’t like at all.  BEAR was gonna come get me, but then pointed Mama in my direction.  As soon as I met her and felt how lonely she was, I knew she was mine.  I had to convince her of that though, so I pulled out all the stops including giving her love nibbles.  Figured no one could resist those and I was right!  So off we went to KY, where I’ve lived for the past 7 years.  And…okay, okay, so maybe I’m not so tough.  Yes, I was caught with a mouse cuddling against me.  Don’t blame me if I have nice thick fur – the little guy wasn’t gonna last much longer with all that snow on the ground.  And I saved a coupla baby bunnies who were stuck in a hole.  Mama fussed at me for that, said that was their home...how was I supposed to know that?  So yep, there’s a gentle side to me too, but don’t let that fool you, I…hey, hey, stop poking me!  Okay, Reesa, your turn…

What can I say that you can’t see?  Mama says I’m special needs, but we both know I’m just special all over.  I’m beautiful, I’m sassy, I’ve got all the right moves!  I may be almost 10, but those silvery hairs just make me shimmer in the sun.  I came up from Florida, supposedly just for a short time, but I won Mama’s heart too.  Ha, I was her Christmas present to herself – can’t beat that!  I’m the woo woo girl, and love to sing with her.  And we know I’m really the tough one of the two, I let everyone know when I’m outside to watch out.  Mama says I talk a bit too much, especially for an Akita, but a girl’s gotta take care of her family, right?

So there you have it, the KY Bluegrass Babes!  We’re ready to strut our stuff for BEAR during the Whisker Walk.  Love, kisses, and nibbles to all of our sponsors!
