Support William Porter’s Fight with Bladder Cancer
As many of you know, our beloved friend and healer William Porter is undergoing treatment for bladder cancer. It was discovered in early December, and since then he’s been in and out of the hospital several times, for surgery, chemo and at the last go-round, fighting a blood infection.
William has given so much to so many of us in Yellowknife and elsewhere across Canada, working long hours to help heal our various aches, pains and illnesses. When you’re self-employed as William is, if you fall ill there’s no paid sick leave, no disability benefits, no employer safety net to catch you so you can take needed time away from work to rest and heal yourself.
Here’s your chance to help William take the time he needs to focus on his own care. There is currently no chemotherapy available in Yellowknife and while treatment and medical travel to Edmonton is covered (thankfully we live in Canada!), William has no income while off work, so all donations are greatly appreciated.

William will be using the funds to help pay the rent on his apartment and office for the next few months, as well as for living expenses and any other medical expenses not covered by NWT Health Care.
