Livestreaming Windsor City Council

Goal: To livestream the audio/video of Windsor City Council and Executive meetings.
For many in Windsor, if they don't have access to local cable and can't attend weekly Council meetings, they're left relying on local media to stay up to date on what's happening with their City government. With declining resources, that same media can really only provide spot coverage on a limited amount of items, despite their best efforts. At times, when there are special meetings and the local cable company has a conflict, there can be no coverage, and therefore, no complete record on what occurs at Council.
WE Speak will provide full weekly coverage of regular and special sessions of City Council through livestreaming of both audio and video. The reason for both audio and video is to provide the widest accessiblity to all. Audio offers good quality for extremely low data usage for those listening on phones with limited data or on limited internet data plans at home.
Broadcasts will be free for all live, and available through YouTube archives online for both personal and for-profit use, at no charge, under a Creative Commons Attribution license.
This campaign is for initial equipment purchases and one year of coverage of all City Council and Executive Committee meetings, both audio and video, beginning April 2018, for one full year. WE Speak will be covering all pre and post production preparation, producing, editing time and costs along with any other expenses that my occur outside the posted budget.
For the second and succeeding years, the show will rely on sponsorships and ads to fund continuing and hopefully expanded coverage.
The model for this coverage will also be freely shared with other local groups/organizations who may wish to do the same for other local Councils and School Boards. The intention is to train other groups through our Council meetings and assist them with beginning their own coverage.
On October 22nd of 2018, Windsor residents will go to the polls to elect their municipal representative for another four years. They deserve to have full and complete access to all Council actions prior to the election.
Below is the planned budget to support this livestream endeavour. Per diems are being attempted as I believe it's worthwhile. If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer when the livestream begins, pleae feel free to contact me.
