Bare with me.
"It's a bit bigger than they thought so current treatment not working well enough so it's hoping to slow it down or shrink a bit it's never going to be cured . She was going on about letting family know my wishes ect I just thought bollocks I'm not done yet !!"
And this is how the fundraiser started.
Our Mum.
Diagnosed with MS in 2011-2012, shortly after this was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Mum has never ever complained, never wanted to know what sort of time frame she may have left, she carries on as she always has. She just gets on with life. When life gives you lemons, add vodka. And lots of it.
This is the way things have been since that point in 2011/2012. Never disabled enough to claim benefits despite the MS and cancer always being there in the background. Despite this mums sheer determination to just carry has kept her going. A remarkable women. Never one to want sympathy or pity has just got on with the lemons life has given her.
Except, now, mum is being made redundant, her health dictates that she won't be seen as employable anymore. At 64, mum has never asked for anything. Work, I truly believe has given mum a purpose, a reason to keep going.
One of her wishes is to travel Scotland. So due to various constraints, I have decided to set up a GoFundMe to do this in Spetember as it works with her hospital appointments, on top of my own, to help support the cost of renting a place to stay, hiring a car, fuel and food costs. Mum want to see the scenery and I want to make this happen for her.
If you know us, our family and friends, please don't talk to mum or dad about this. Mum is aware of the gofundme, but is private, she is aware of the gofundme and we have the blessing of her "as long as I don't see it". Which will make raising the money as challange. Without the fundraising this is something I just can't manage.
Thank you for sticking with me this far.
