Wheels for Willie
(A family in need of a funds to purchase a wheelchair lift vehicle for thier 2 yr old son)
Our daughter and her family are in need of a wheelchair lift vehicle for thier 2 year old foster
(to adopt) son, William.  Please read their heartwarming story.

Our daughter and her husband have been a foster family for just over 5 years. They have cared for and adpoted several medically fragile children.  They have been blessed with a little boy who very medically fragile due to complications at birth. They say:
"we are so lucky we have an opportunity to adopt him. He has been with us, for what will be 2 years in October. He is doing fantastic and continues to overcome every adversity and shock doctors along the way. Love does amazing things!"
That is why they are foster parents.
They have never wanted to ask for help.
Now it is time to reach out to the community for help.
Currently the family is working towards adoption, although it is a long process. William is wheelchair bound and will never have the ability to walk.  They want to be a forever family for William.
At some point they will have to move out of the tiny 3rd floor condo with--as he gets bigger and equipment gets larger.  For now and at least for the next few years carrying him up a few flights of stairs is a simple task.
First the family has to provide him safe transportation. This happens to be a question on the adoption forms. The current vehicle cannot be converted to a wheelchair accessible van without thm losing seating for thier other 3 children. They are currently looking at a total cost of $75,000, which includes the conversion of $34,000. This is a HUGE number for any family to process.
The family wants to continue to move forward providing him, all their current children, and future children a good and safe home. They need to be able to transport them to doctor appointments, as all of their children who see specialists.  Over time they have hit a lot of roadblocks applying for grants and identifying funding sources. As a last resort they have started to work to set up fundraisers to help build funding for the wheelchair van.  The Mommy even took on a second job/ side business to earn extra money. They have a long way to go, but we will continue to work at it. This is their current goal.

The  children mean everything to them--biological, adopted, fostered... The parents said
"they are all our children and part of our family. We promised them we will do everything we could to provide a good home and life for them"
There is so much love and caring not just from Mommy and Daddy, but Willies siblings and extended family.
This family is what LOVE looks like.
They need your help to help for Willie.

The family does everything a typical family does, go to the zoo, the park, the beach... they are a typical family.
"we love what we do and have been beyond blessed by it. It's been an amazing and wild journey that has only just started and they can't wait for what the future holds for us as a family"
Thank you to everyone for their prayers, love, and support for this giving family!
Its is just one more of their many blessings!
As parents and grandparents we are very proud and humbled by what our daughter, son in law and the children do.
Not everyone can do what they do--
. . . but anyone can help
.
