Let us introduce you to Monica Snyder. She is a mother of two beautiful daughters and wife to her wonderful husband, Dan. Monica is a Christian and an inspiration to all she meets. She has multiple co-morbid conditions including Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS) and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) to name a few.
What is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome? A group of connective tissue disorders that can be inherited and are varied both in how affect the body and in their genetic causes. They are generally characterized by joint hypermobility (joints that stretch further than normal), skin hyperextensibility (skin that can be stretched further than normal), and tissue fragility.
She had her first lumbar peritoneal shunt placed in 2013, after several years of struggling with Intracranial Hypertension. She has had a total of 32 surgeries, including several spinal cord fusions. Her most recent surgery occurred just a few days ago on August 13, 2018. Her brain pressure is so bad that it puts her in bed, holding her head, weeping and even wanting to die. In the past after surgery, she has flown to Arizona to heal, because the weather/climate brings relief from her pain and pressure due to the drastic weather changes she deals with in Ohio. Monica undergoes chemo every 6 weeks to keep her PANDAS and mast cell reactions under control.
God willing, the Snyder family is moving to Tucson to save Monica’s life. They have exhausted their monetary resources and depend on God to provide for them. Monica’s car has finally given out. Once she gets to Tucson, she needs a small SUV with backup camera (she cannot turn her head), smoke free and pet free. Please donate to “Wheels for Monica” so Monica will have transportation to take her children to school and doctors’ appointments.
