Due to the large increase in unexpected support from everyone, the goal has been increased! 3600 is the minimum we need for a chair to even be purchased! We will keep the site up until at least 2 weeks before practice begins ^^
Isaiah, a student-athlete, was critically injured in a car accident at the age of 8 years old. He was left paralyzed from his waist down as a result of this accident. He recently became interested in participating in wheelchair sports. The cost of purchasing a chair is too much of a financial burden for his family and rental equipment is often expensive and unreliable. Isaiah needs a reliable chair that he can compete and practice in year round.
Isaiah has built confidence during this time and won the state championship in the 100-meter sprint. He won the championship in a rented and unreliable wheelchair which had a flat tire. He desperately needs one of his own racing chairs. Having his own chair will help him to compete at a high level and to maximize his potential as a student-athlete.
This school year Isaiah, who has been paralyzed from the waist down since he was 8 years old, became interested in participating in wheelchair sports. Wheelchairs for this type of competition are not cheap and are hard to find. South View High School rented a chair to help Isaiah fulfill his dream of competing in high school athletics. The rental chair was unreliable and had to go through many repairs. He experienced a flat tire the evening before the race and had to race in the state championship race with a broken chair. He won the state championship despite the difficulties!!
Participating in athletics has given Isaiah confidence and boosted his self-esteem. He is new to competing in high school athletics and has a lot of potential to compete at a high level. He has become extremely competitive and has a deep desire to improve.
The obstacle that he must overcome to reach his maximum potential is to have a chair of his own to compete in. Monthly chair rentals are expensive and unreliable. Please help Isaiah fulfill his dream of having a chair of his own.
