A week ago, the Segger's life was turned upside-down when an out-of-control car barreled down Normandale, crashing into their garage and starting a fire. Miraculously, no one was hurt, but the fire caused considerable damage to their home, as well as totalling their car.
The Segger's need to purchase a car to replace the one destroyed in the fire, so right now, Gerda is without wheels. Their insurance gave them a very small amount for the destroyed car, not enough to buy a simple used car. They estimate that a decent used car could cost them about $15,000.
Their home owner's insurance is covering the rest of their expenses, but they would be blessed to have you support them in prayer and if you feel led, to contribute financially. As of now, they have just the one car.
Many people have asked how they can help. This is a tangible way to help meet an immediate need.
We love the Seggers, our neighbors! They are such strong people. I know this is completely unexpected and not easy for them, but it's an opportunity to bless them like they have blessed us in the community.
