Mr. Maroo Wheelchair Challenge

I am Archer Hadley, a senior at Austin High School.  I have cerebral palsy and get around in a six-wheeled power wheelchair   For three years I have been unable to get in and out of my school independently because I cannot open the doors on my own.  As a senior I am required to complete a project that gives back to the community.  I decided last year that I was going to raise funds to have power operated doors installed at five locations in the school.  Bids that I have gotten for the installation totals $40,000.  My first fundraising effort was to put on a wheelchair challenge where students and teachers pay to challenge each other to spend a day in a wheelchair.  The challenge has been a great success and has raised awareness of the ABLE bodied to the life of the disABLED bodied.  I continue to raise money and would appreciate your help in making my goal to make all of Austin High School accessible to every person who enters the campus.  Thank you in advance for your support.  Archer
