George Lebess is a 66 year old paraplegic who is struggling to care for his ailing wife and maintain his independence without reliable, flexible transportation. He is in need of our help. Please take a few minutes to watch this video.
George teaches woodwind instruments and flute at Troll Music in Venice, FL. At 67 years old, George is a veteran musician with over 45 years of experience as a professional musician and educator. George is also paralyzed from the chest down as a result of a motorcycle accident in 1990.
George’s physical limitations make day to day tasks difficult enough but recently his 1986 Buick has reached the point where it can no longer be effectively repaired.
George is also a 9 year colon cancer survivor. In addition to taking care of himself, George is the primary care-giver for his wife, who at 77, also has many health issues.
Reliable, flexible transportation is extremely important for both George and his wife. And getting in and out of his failing car is no small feat.
As George’s close friends, we are reaching out and asking for help to get George a functional and practical vehicle. George has reached out to many organizations for assistance but, for one reason or another, in the end none of them have panned out. Maybe you can help George continue to teach music, have the freedom to get where he needs to go and continue to take care of his home and family. Every little bit helps. Thanks for watching.
