Wheelchair Van for Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
We need a reliable wheelchair van, and this is why: My Mom was recently diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of cancer called Pleomorphic Sarcoma. This was discovered after she was hospitalized twice for blood clots and after continuing to be in a considerable amount of pain (after treatment and surgery), they went back in and found a huge tumor that had cut off the blood flow to two of her quadriceps muscles, and those had to be removed. She is now permanently disabled, wearing a leg brace, which she can’t even put on herself, and now she faces 5-8 months of cancer treatments. If she gets these treatments she has a very good chance of surviving! The plan is to have chemo for 3-6 months, then radiation five days a week for five weeks, and after that - surgery to remove the tumor. At this time, she is unable to sit in a car (or any chair) without excruciating pain, unless she is sitting in a wheelchair, with her leg extended out in front of her. In the past week and a half we spent $1,000 on wheelchair van services just going to doctors appointments! Because the cancer is so rare, she has to go to a special team of doctors for her treatments that are 20 miles away from where my mom lives (and those are 20, hard, dilipated Detroit miles), and it’s in a different county than the one she lives in, so the local subsidized bus system is out of the question (besides that, can you imagine traveling 20 miles by bus, getting chemo and then traveling another 20 miles by bus home?). My Mom is 67, and was working full-time, up until her first hospitalization, in August. She has taken care of her three brothers with special needs her entire life, and now she needs to be taken care of. She is a special lady who needs some help. We need this van (like) yesterday! Please donate and share so that we can get this van ASAP.
If anyone is willing to finance an auto loan, we’d also be appreciative, since I (her only child) am a small business owner and am not taking a salary, and she is no longer working, so I don’t think either one of us will qualify, even though we both have good credit. I just found out that there is a used wheelchair van company near my home, and I’m excited about the possibility of getting my mom a good, reliable van. I live across the country, and I’m going back to Detroit for the next 5-8 months to help my mom. If I could get a van here and drive it there, it would remove our biggest obstacle.
Thanks again, and please share our Go Fund Me campaign.
