WheelchairLift for my Brother's van

Donation protected
My Brother Brad has been disabled since 1988 when he was in a motorcycle accident.  Since the accident, although disabled, he has been as independent as possible, earning a bachelors and masters degree  - all after his accident.   He currently works as a rehabilitation counselor with a focus on helping people get out of a nursing home.

Now to explain his current need.  He has a van that he uses to get around, including to Doctor visits, shopping and radio controlled boat races!   A couple weeks ago the wheelchair lift broke down for the 'nth' time and he needs a new lift.  There is no other way for him to get into the van without the lift.   He is currently getting to work by driving his wheelchair about 1 mile each way, but it is only a matter of time before he will need the van for some of his other transportation needs.

He cannot afford the lift because, even though he works, the rules of Medicaid cap his income at bare bones survival levels.  My parents, my wife and I are going to help him as much as we can, but the lift is expected to cost somewhere around 8k-9k, which is alot of money.  My parents are on a fixed income, and for me, rent is high in Denver, and like most folks, we are living from paycheck to paycheck.

The funds will go to pay for the wheelchair lift.   Currently the lift has been ordered and is expected to arrive by the end of August, at such time we will need to get the money to pay the Van / Lift repair company.

Even a small gift will help.  Your generosity will be much appreciated by Brad and his family.

Thanks much for your consideration.
