Wheelchair and cancer treatment for Ritesh, 8 yrs
Donation protected
UPDATE 1/11/23 Since the appeal was launched, Ritesh’s has been diagnosed with soft tissue cancer and will need further operations.
The funds are now therefore being used towards crutches and a bed, with the balance put aside for the forthcoming treatment.
Hello,
My friend Phil and I are spending a few days at Bethesda Children Home in Mettapulayam, India.
We have met little Ritesh, an 8 year old who has had to have a full leg amputation after a wound became infected.
Ritesh has moved to the Children’s Home last summer , after his father and sibling got killed in a road accident and mother could not afford to look after Ritesh by herself.
Ritesh would immensely benefit from having a wheelchair as he currently relies on being carried by his friends and staff members to get around.
A good quality wheelchair which will last years cost £300. We are hoping to be able to raise enough to buy the wheelchair and add a bit more to cover any extra medical devices Ritesh might need.
Every donation, however small, will help and by pooling together we could make a huge difference to Ritesh’ life for the price of a coffee in the UK!
I have seen first hand the way the Children’s Home is run , the children are loved, cared for, and treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
I can personally vouch that any money donated will be used for its intended purpose.
Thank you SO much in advance for your generosity and kindness.
