Wheelchair and Lift for Chris

I was working in our office and heard a loud crash, like a tree coming through our roof.  I soon learned it was my husband Chris.  He had lost consiousness and fallen in the bathroom.  911 was called and the EMS had to come and take him to our local hospital.  After nine hours, they discharged him and sent him home.  He couldn't walk, he had to crawl up the seven steps of the porch, through a mudroom and up another 17 stairs to our bedroom.  He passed out and was rushed to the hospital another 3 times, they finally admitted him the last time because I refused to take him home because he couldn't walk.  He spent seven weeks in the hospital with no explanation or diagnosis to the reason of his episodes.  During his hospitalization,  our 15 year old daughter Abby and myself had to find other living accomodations.  We were doing a rent to own, and had to walk away because the payments were too high for me to make on one income.   We had some incredible extended family that helped us with this heartbreaking endeavour.  

Chris was finally able to come home on November 15th, but with many difficulties.  We currently have a portable suitcase ramp,  which he is unable to use independently due to having to go down backwards.  We are looking into getting a more permanent structure with a gradual decline, but it is quite costly.    He is currently sleeping on the sofa because he cannot get up the stairs to our bedroom. I sleep on the other end of the sectional as well because I'm terrified that he will need me and I will not hear him if he calls for me.  I had a quote for a chairlift done from a local company, the cost with installation and taxes is $2700 CDN funds.  His ramp, wheelchair, walker and commode are all free to him for the first 30 to 60 days, after that we have to pay the monthly rentals for them.  

Currently we cannot afford our daily living expenses, we are behind in our utilities and our rent.  We struggle everyday.  Our daughter doesn't even want to celebrate Christmas at all this year because she knows money is tight.  She doesn't deserve that, she is the one that kept me going through the time Chris was in hospital, if it wasn't for her, I don't know where I would be now.

If we could get funding to cover the costs to purchase the above mentioned equipment and catch up our past bills,  that in itself would be our Christmas Miracle.
